The area began as an agricultural town known for its apricot orchards and was originally known by the name Banks and Braes. When a Southern Pacific Railroad developer arrived in town, he saw a need to link together Palo Alto and Los Gatos, therefore creating the commuter town of Los Altos. The Los Altos area expanded dramatically between the 1950s and 1980s and is known for being the former home of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
Today, Los Altos is a thriving Silicon Valley bedroom community that working professionals and their families love to call home! The area offers gorgeous luxury estates, including single-family homes that reach well into the millions. These homes range from sprawling estates to comfortable ranch homes, all with fantastic high-end renovations.
