Welcome To

Los Gatos

A quaint and peaceful Silicon Valley town.

Welcome to Los Gatos

The Santa Clara County town of Los Gatos is quaint and pristine, home to just over 30,000 residents and conveniently located near San Francisco and San Jose. Part of Silicon Valley, Los Gatos maintains a quiet feel with all the comforts of home.

Los Gatos’ unique name—Spanish for “the cats”—was inspired by the population of wild cougars and bobcats found in the foothills. Originally, an Alta California land grant spanned this area and was named La Rinconada de Los Gatos, or “Cat’s Corner.” The town was officially founded in the 1850s when a flour mill was built in the area and experienced a revitalization in the 1920s as an artists’ colony.

Los Gatos is located in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains and today serves as a small but thriving town known for its wineries, downtown area, and beautiful, mature landscaping. Home prices in the area are typical for Silicon Valley: in the low millions, although plenty of apartment homes are available as well.
