Welcome to Morgan Hill
Morgan Hill is one of Silicon Valley’s most desirable areas, a charming residential community that’s home to several big tech companies. Its historic downtown features high-end dining and shopping, fabulous wineries, and fun local events.
The area now known as Morgan Hill was part of an Alta California province before being redistributed to Mexican citizens and eventually owned by the prominent Murphy family. The land was then inherited by Diana Murphy and her husband, Hiram Morgan Hill; the couple later hired a land developer to divide the property, building a thriving community around their home, Morgan’s Hill Ranch. The name was shortened to “Morgan Hill,” and the town was officially incorporated in 1906.
Today, Morgan Hill is known as a Silicon Valley hotspot with lots to see and do. The town is ranked by Forbes as one of the most expensive places to live in the United States, so expect a high cost of living and an expensive housing market. Plenty of luxurious homes are available, with many featuring incredible views of the mature landscaping and trees.
